If
everything goes as plan, Starboy honcho Wizkid will put pen to paper on
a mouth-watering music deal with Sony Music/RCA Records with incoming
reports suggesting that the proposed deal is the most valuable offer
handed to any African artiste signed onto the stable of the music record
label giants.
According
to a reliable source on Twitter (@OvieO), everything has been agreed in
principle and the terms of the deal are said to be mind-blowing.
“All
things being equal, Wizkid will put pen to paper on a mega deal with
Sony/RCA tomorrow (Tuesday). Everything is agreed in principle.
“The figures being mentioned in the Wizkid Sony/RCA deal are mind-blowing”, he added.
“The
deal places Wizkid and Davido on the same platform, which makes things
very interesting. (Ayo Jay signed with RCA directly).
“Universal
made a strong play for Wizkid (a top exec travelled to London for talks
months back), but Sony offered a much better package.”
When
signed, the deal will open another vista in the burgeoning career of
the pop star who is currently working on his next album titled “Sounds
From The Other Side” which is expected to feature many of the recent
international collaborations he had with Chris Brown, Swiss Beatz, Sean
Paul, Drake and more
