A
37-year-old UK national has been taken into custody in connection with a
racial attack on a pregnant 34-year-old woman who reports say is
“Middle Eastern in appearance”.
According to local police, the suspect verbally abused the pregnant woman throwing “racial remarks” at her while shopping at a supermarket in the town of Bletchley, north of London, on August 6, police said.
Note done with his assault, the suspect followed the woman out into a parking lot where he physically attacked her, kicking her in the torso and knocking her to the ground.
The woman was later rushed to the nearby Milton Keynes General Hospital, after the incident and was treated for repeated blows to the abdomen, but doctors were unable to save the baby.
“The … victim was pregnant and as a result of the assault she lost her baby,” police said.
