December 1, 2016 – 5000 Tested Positive For HIV/AIDS Disease In 27 IDP Camps In Borno State
At least 5000 Nigerians displaced by Boko Haram have tested positive for Human Immunodeficiency Virus disease in Borno state.
According to the coordinator of HIV/AIDS disease control in Borno state, Mustapha Hassan, most of the patients were women rescued from Boko Haram camps in different areas of Borno state.
He added that most of the women are afraid of coming out for help because of stigmatization. Mustapha lamented that most of them died of the disease because of lack of proper treatment.
