Top 8 Ways To Avoid Debt As Recession Bites Harder By John Uzie

ways to avoid debt
December 3rd, 2016 – Top 8 Ways To Avoid Debt As Recession Bites Harder – John Uzie
In striving to meet the essential needs of life and enjoy comfort, many individuals incur debt. To be in debt is never fun, it can cause enormous emotional and psychological problems. An essential requirement to achieve personal financial success, is to be debt free.
WAYS TO AVOID DEBT:
1. Have a budget plan ; a well thought out and planned budget is a must for you to be free of debt. Budget should be planned within available income, priority should be given to basic and essential needs. Less amounts of money should be spent on wants.
2. Have a savings account ; a regular savings scheme is essential, no amount is too small, what matters is discipline and consistency. Every amount you save counts, in times of financial emergencies, you savings can be a life saver.
3. Avoid ” buy now, pay later offers” ; buying of goods not planned and budgeted for is a sure way into debt. Such goods are usually over priced.
4. Control spending impulses ; excessive spending on goods and services that are not budgeted for is not wise. Spending on items not captured in your budget should be minimal. As a rule small amount of money should be allocated for miscellaneous expenses in your budget.
5. Don’t carry large amounts of cash ; when you have no plans for shopping, don’t carry large amounts of cash when leaving the house, this will help avoid unnecessary spending.
6. Have a payment plan, if you are in debt ; work out a feasible and realistic plan to pay any debt you owe. Discuss and negotiate with your creditors, to work out a convenient and acceptable plan of payment.
7. Compare prices of goods and services ; before making payments or purchases carry out a market survey to determine the price of goods and services, this effort can save some amount of money you can put to other use.
8. Don’t borrow money, except you really have no other choice, and borrow only amount you can conveniently pay back.

  3. After that, I do some exercises, freshen up and I have breakfast.
  4. If I am involved in a film project, I ensure that I wake up very early so that I would get to the set on time and rehearse my scripts.

Why Victor Moses Should Quit Chelsea & Transfer To Barca

victor moses quit chelsea
December 3rd, 2016 – Why Victor Moses Should Quit Chelsea & Transfer To Barca
The January transfer window opens in 32 days with big money expected to be splashed on players who have excelled since the new European season began in August. I’m excited that a Nigerian is the beautiful bride of European teams. Many club managers are thinking of offering Victor Moses long term contracts in the summer. Moses has earned three Man-of-the-Match diadems, playing for Chelsea at the right wing-back position, a place designed for the Nigerian by his Italian manager Antonio Conte.
What it simply means, if Moses doesn’t understand, is that the position is his for as long as Conte remains Chelsea’s manager. I also know that Moses understands that Chelsea’s owner is notorious for sacking managers who don’t meet his expectation. It follows, therefore, that Moses should not be cajoled into extending his contract based on his form. Rather he should follow his mind and head for Barcelona next year.
Chelsea would recruit massively in the summer, if it returns to the UEFA Champions Leagues. This means that Moses’ shirt isn’t guaranteed, even if Conte remains on board. I also don’t think that Moses will enjoy regular appearances with Chelsea now that Ivanovic is being introduced as his substitute. The right wing-back position isn’t Moses’ rightful position. My hunch tells me that Ivanovic may soon bench Moses, given the fact that it is his position. Besides, he is bigger and stronger, but not as skilful as the Nigerian.
I would advise Moses to head straight to Barcelona next year. In Barca, Moses will be able to express himself properly since much of the Spanish side is an embodiment of very skilful players with incredible team understanding. Besides, Barcelona’s manager Enrique will be playing Moses regularly since he is the one recruiting the Nigerian. In Chelsea Conte could be fired mid-season next year, if things go awry.
Moses should use the remaining part of this season to master playing at the right wingback position. A vacancy exists already in that position at Barcelona, which he could easily grab, no matter who is recruited in January to man it till the end of the season. Besides, Barca is a more stable club for skilful players, such as Moses, not Chelsea without a traditional style. Barca’s tikitaka (passing game) is legendary.
The English press has been unfair in analysing Moses’ form. Many Chelsea fans are wondering why the Nigerian’s talent couldn’t be recognised by Jose Mourinho. They have argued that Mourinho couldn’t bring out the best in Moses to command a regular shirt largely because the Portuguese likes playing big, strong and tall players with grit than smallish men with sublime skills such as Moses and Mata, even now that the Spaniard plays for Manchester United.
A few pundits in Moruinho’s defence argued that Moses was in Liverpool, Stoke and indeed West Ham and didn’t play as well as he is doing at Chelsea under Conte. But the truth remains that Moses cannot force himself onto the pitch if the coaches feel otherwise. Conte has shown that Moses is a versatile player. He needs to play for a formidable team that relies on playing as a unit than on one player’s yeoman effort.
It is for this reason that Moses should consider the Barcelona option, given the array of stars in the Spanish side and their pedigree in Europe. Barca is a constant fixture in big European competitions, winning trophies with aplomb.
Wednesday’s award as the best player in the Barclays English Premier League matches for November further enhances the need for Moses to accept the Barcelona option, which offers him better challenges.
Indeed, it has been quite a while since a Nigerian was voted the African Footballer of the Year. I feel strongly that Moses would thrill the world from September 2017, if he signs for Barcelona in the summer. Barca is always in the news. They may be tottering now, largely because Lionel Messi is injured. But the bigger picture is that Moses’ inclusion in the team would reduce the burden on the Argentine. Moses’ inclusion would give Barca the balance on the right flank that they lost when Dani Alves dumped them this season for Juventus.
I tip Moses to be the African Footballer of the Year 2017, if he makes the move to Spain. This doesn’t mean if he remains at Chelsea he wouldn’t be crowned. The truth is that as a new recruit, Moses would be played since there is a vacuum in that position, which means he would command a regular team shirt. I don’t think it would be the same for Moses with the Blues.

African Champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons Defeat Cameroon’s Lionesses, Retain AWCON Title

nigeria falcons defeats cameroon
December 3rd, 2016 – African Champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons Defeat Cameroon’s Lionesses, Retains AWCON Title
The Nigeria’s Super Falcons have once again clinched the African Women Cup of Nations for a record 8- times after defeating host Cameroon in the final before an intimidating crowd at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaounde, Cameroon.
Desire Oparanozie’s late strike was enough for the Falcons to retain the title they won in Namibia in 2014.
The Cameroonian Lionesses though dominated play from the beginning but were very profligate in front of goal wasting chances upon chances.
As early as the 4th minute, Gabrielle Onguene went past the Nigerian defense like a ghost, only to shoot wide with just Goalkeeper Alaba Jonathan to beat.
Okobi however stood out in the midfield despite the Falcons poor start to the game, she found space in the middle, and then turned brilliantly only for her shot to go so high and completely off target.
Cameroon’s Enganamouit was as expected a threat to the Nigerian defense and danger man of the Lionesses and she made frantic efforts to ensure her team take the lead, but for Goal keeper Alaba Jonathan’s brilliance, the Cameroonian would have matched her pre-final hype.
Chance after chance fell on to the hosts, Ngono Mani, Ngock Yango, Gabrielle Oungene and Gaelle Enganamouit all had four clear shots on target as against none for the Super Falcons in the entire first half, a clear opposite that they were a shadow of what they’ve been, dominant in the whole tournament.
Nigeria’s attack led by Arsenal Ladies’ Asisat Oshoala barely had a charge at goal let alone shoot at Ngo Ndom in goal for Cameroon.
In the second half, the Falcons faced a more serious charge from their host, but a super defensive display from the duo of Onome Ebi and Oshinachi Ohale ensured the game stayed at goalless.
Again, in the 57th minute, a rather poor Asisat Oshoala not playing at her best, lose the ball in the midfield allowing Onguene begin another onslaught on the Nigerian defense, only goal keeper Alaba Jonathan could save the Falcons’ blushes, and she did.
Chioma Wogu was thrown into the fray to replace Washington Spirits’ Francisca Ordega in the 65th minute, the change however brought pep into the attack line of the Falcons, of course Oparanozie got the needed support she craved for to be more potent upfront.
The Falcons finally got the game’s only goal, and the match winning goal in the 85th minute when Desire Oparanozie met up with a lob from impressive Ngozi Okobi, and she coolly slots home. The goal was greeted with total silence inside the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium a 40,000 seater which was filled up to capacity.
nigeria super falcons defeats cameroon
The Super Falcons held on for the win, to claim the trophy and rule Africa again.

Nigerian Lady Trafficked To Libya Recounts One-Month Trip Through The Sahara Desert

nigerian lady trafficked libya
November 28, 2016 – Nigerian Lady Trafficked To Libya Recount Ordeal During One-Month Trip Through The Sahara Desert
Miss Peju Akins (pseudonym) was offered a poisoned chalice in a Lagos church in January, 2015; she embraced it hook, line and sinker!
A lady she met during Sunday service painted the rosy picture of Libya, with the streets of Tripoli “flowing with milk and honey’’, and the promise that after making money in the North African country, she would easily migrate to Europe.
“I’m lucky to be back in Nigeria alive; many died during the one-month trip through the desert, especially between Agadez in Niger Republic and the Libyan capital, Tripoli. My ‘burger’ (trafficker) succeeded in convincing another lady to make the trip with us from Lagos. We were seeking better life, but it was a regrettable trip and a waste of almost two years of my life.’’
Peju, 26, holds a National Diploma (ND) in business administration from a polytechnic in Nigeria’s South-West. She says the first leg of the ill-fated trip, from Lagos to Kano, was fun. Then the next call between Kano and Agadez in Niger Republic, a distance of 715 kilometres, was stressful as they had no travelling documents.
“Border officials exploited us; checkpoints mounted by Nigerien gendarmes did the same. But, the horror started in Agadez. Any semblance of a road network ended at Agadez; all I could see was endless sand dunes like I have seen water at the ocean shore in Lagos. The heat and the dust were horrible.
“In addition, we were considered as mere merchandise over which people haggled for prices that could favour them. We spent five days in Agadez because the trip through the desert starts from there only on Mondays.
“In Agadez, our group met hundreds of black people from across the ECOWAS sub-region, assembled for the suicidal desert trip to Libya.’’
According to Peju, only four-wheel-drive, double-cabin pick-up vans are being used for the desert trip, with each taking between 20 and 30 migrants.
She says they were loaded in the cargo cabin of each pick-up van, with most of their bodies hanging out of the van, each hapless traveller holding a stick tied to a rope in the cabin, to stop them from falling off during the bumpy ride.
“Between Agadez and Qatroun, (in Niger Republic) and Sabha in the middle of Libya, we were kidnapped many times by militia groups that raped some of the ladies. There was so much shooting, though nobody in my vehicle was hit.
“We were told of rotting corpses littering some areas of the desert, but our driver must have avoided such spots so as not to further scare us. Each kidnapping meant being locked up in ‘prison’ until ransom was paid. My human trafficker saw to the negotiations.’’
Peju finally got to Tripoli, after covering about 3,500 kilometres of road, mostly uncharted desert.
“I thought my nightmare was over when we got to Tripoli; little did I know it had just begun. I and my fellow church member were allowed to scrub off the smell and dirt of the desert in a bathroom, and a change of dress, before being driven to a large compound they call ‘connection house’.
“The ‘connection house’ is the alias for a brothel. Without much hesitation, two elderly ladies, a Yoruba and an Ibo from Nigeria, casually asked if we would like to start with ‘one-round’, ‘short time’ or ‘all-night’ patrons’’.
She says she later understood that ‘one-round’ means having sex with a man once for the equivalent of N1,000 in Libya dinar, ‘short-time’ means three hours of sex for N3,000 equivalent, while ‘all-night’ means copulation from dusk to dawn for N6,000.

Fraudster Who Used President Buhari’s Name To Dupe Saudi Arabian Doctor Arrested

November 30, 2016 – Fraudster Who Used President Buhari’s Name To Dupe Saudi Arabian Doctor Arrested
Officials of the Inspector-General of Police (IG), Ibrahim Idris, Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have arrested a suspected fraudster, for posing as Idris to use President Muhammedu Buhari’s name to defraud a Saudi Arabia-based medical doctor of $10,000.
The victim, Hassan Alkahallaf, is attached to the Department of Urology, Security Forces Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The police said the 29-year-old suspect, Ekperebuike Akadonye, specialised in impersonating Idris on the internet. Akadonye told operatives of IRT that he contacted his victims via an email address, igofnieria@outlook.com, purportedly belonging to Idris.
He claimed that President Buhari, in his anti-corruption fight, had directed the IG to refund foreign victims, who had been defrauded by Nigerians in the past. Alkahallaf, who had previously been duped by some Nigeria-based internet fraudsters, was said to have fallen for the ruse. A police source said: “Immediately Alkahallaf received the email, he quickly replied, believing he was dealing with real IG. He was eventually made to pay $10,000 in several instalments before he could get back his lost funds.
“When Akadonye realised the doctor had fallen for his trick, he started demanding money from him. The victim was made to pay money to hire a lawyer who would represent him since he is not based in Nigeria as well as opening bank accounts and obtaining ATM cards.”
Alkahallaf was said to have later contacted the IG Idris through the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Nigeria. He complained of how he has been duped twice by Nigerians. Idris swung into action immediately and directed IRT to trail and apprehend the fraudster.
The team trailed Akadonye to his hometown of Isiala-Mbano in Imo State and apprehended him. Recovered from him were a mobile phone and a laptop used in carrying out the fraud. Akadonye said that it was poverty which led him into the crime.
According to him, he was formerly a trader, but his shops were demolished by Imo State Government and as a result became financially handicapped. The suspect added that his situation forced him to begin to seek others means of survival.
He said: “After my shops were demolished, I had to look for what to do. One of my friends led me into internet fraud. I started by searching for prominent persons on the internet.
“When I found Dr. Alkahallaf, he told me that he had some inheritance funds in Nigeria and he wanted to claim them. I told him that the President had mandated me to assist victims of fraudsters to get back their lost funds. I asked him to pay for a lawyer and to also open a bank account and get ATM cards. He believed and paid me some of the money.”
