Oct 14, 2016 – 4 Women, Fake Female Beggars Arrested For Using Rented Kids To Beg For Alms At Iyana Ipaja Lagos
Four women caught using rented kids to solicit for alm at Iyana Ipaja have been arrested.
According to those who reported them to authorities, the suspects caught with 5 children usually move from one location to the other calling on passers by and motorists to come to their rescue.
One of the women who rented identical twins said her husband died when she delivered the twins.
Another suspect 35-year-old Olatunde Shakira said her husband left her when she gave birth to her child.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, said the women and their infants were apprehended during routine rescue operations by the ministry.
