A farm workers at Igbodu-Isiwo, Epe, Lagos State, where two female farmers, a farm worker and six-month-old baby were kidnapped, yesterday said that some of his colleagues were running back to their country, Togo. The man, Mathin, said the farm workers, who are predominantly Togolese, were leaving Nigeria for Togo because police were arresting them.
He said: “We cannot come out to work. Some of our colleagues have even run back to Togo for fear of being arrested by policemen who are hunting for the kidnappers. We only came to Nigeria to work, so that we can feed our family members. We are not safe anymore.”
Last Friday morning, gunmen invaded a farm settlement at Epe and abducted Mrs. Oluwatoyosi Aboderin, her sister’s six month-old baby, another female farmer, Mrs. Ogechi Maku, and a farm worker identified as Baba Togo.

On Tuesday, the kidnappers asked for N70 million to release the two farm owners, Baba Togo and the six-month-old baby.
